Gum Surgeries

A large number of people suffer from some form of gum disease (periodontal disease) which they may or may not be aware of. The supporting tissues of the teeth slowly regress ,become swollen and diseased leading to tooth mobility following which they may either fall of or may require extraction. The disease progression may or may not be associated with pain .Further recent medical research has pointed out the association of gum (periodontal) disease and cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus. Thus it becomes increasingly important for individuals to go through regular check ups with dental professionals every six months, get through professional cleaning (oral prophylaxis) and brush twice a day .Performing gum surgery (periodontal surgery) becomes mandatory if there is loss of attachment. Bone grafting using world class materials is routinely performed and has helped a large number of our patients. Remember, prevention is better than cure.
